Activism: Environment & Globalization
Many Muslims are under the impression that issues of environmentalism, globalization and trade, genetic modification of food products, and so on are issues that "belong" to college students with dreadlocks who spend their summer vacations protesting World Bank meetings.
This could not be further from the truth. Globally, Muslims are among those most affected by issues of fair and free trade, deforestation, the destruction of the environment, food and water security, and so on. All of these issues are Islamic issues, and when it comes to activism and raising awareness, Muslims should be at the forefront. Here, a few basic resources to get you started.
