Islamic & Modest Clothiers Directory:
stores, history, articles, pictures
We looked all over the internet for modest clothing retailers and patternmakers outside of the Muslim community, to give you more choices and ideas (especially when it comes to buying modest clothing for your Muslim daughter).
We've got links to stores specializing in hippy / goth clothing, modest Christian dress, and sites with historical patterns from Turkish, Arab, and Persian cultures. Insha'Allah, the more creative and talented among us can take inspiration from descriptions and pictures of medieval Islamic dress to create something new and unique. For the rest of us, you will find links to textile dictionaries (what kind of fabric is this anyway?), and basic sewing and embroidery FAQs. (Please do keep in mind that sites listed as secular or Christian may contain images or language you might find bothersome)

Islamic Clothiers
In the past, I made it my goal to put up the most comprehensive online Islamic clothiers list that I could. My goal has changed. I am, insha'Allah, only linking to those vendors who I know (from experience or my friends) to be trustworthy producers and distributors of quality clothing, insha'Allah.
Shukr Online High quality clothing designed especially for modest men and women who live and work in the West. Great service.
Hijab Girl.com HG.com aims to be the lowest-priced hijab vendor in the US. Wraps, al-Amiras, niqabs, and pins, including the latest styles and trends from the Middle East.
Hijab al Mu'minat Nice wraps and scarves, ships in a timely fashion. Also sells undercaps, sleeve guards, prayer garments.
Jelbab.com Professional Islamic clothing from al Sajeda in Jordan, although the website's not that great and the prices have gotten high in the past few years.
Al Hediya.com Good prices, great products for men and women, produced and shipped from Kuwait, run by an American sister.
Al Muhajabat Islamic Clothing Jilbabs, abayas, thobes, gloves, niqabs, men's clothing -- it's all here!
Al Mujalbaba Original hijabs, khimars, niqabs, and other garments.
Al Ikhlas Islamic Clothing From the ever expanding E-Bay store of DD Ikhlas, now it's own webstore.
Al Karam Website does not do justice to their products. One of the first major producers of fashionable, modern jilbabs and abayas (vs. the very ugly, drab stuff that was sold before).
Al Sundus.com Wonderful selection of plus size shalwar kameez, scarves, abayas, veils, and more, as well as selections for the office.
Love Unspoken / Shadiyah's Boutique Abayas (including overhead abayas), dresses, slips, pants to wear under skirts, niqabs, khimars, and more.
Bilal Designs African inspired head wraps and matching skirts, plus original al-Amira style hijabs
Caravan Express Jilbabs, abayas, plus size, kids, scarves, men, more.
E-Shakti Reasonably priced Indian shalwar kameez, lengas, saris, and other garments. For most styles, you have the option of customizing the garment at no add'l cost, meaning you choose the neckline, pants style, sleeve length, and shirt length.
Haya Clothing / Inaya Clothing Coming soon, a revamped line from the sister who brought you simple, elegant dresses, jumpers, skirts & tops.
Hijab Pins.com Original stick pin designs, brooches, and plastic styles from Japan

Christian Modest Dress
While our theology is at odds, the clothiers listed below tend to carry lovely modest dress for girls, as well as full skirts and jumpers without slits and caps and light veils that can be worn under the scarf or around the house. If you have a hard time wearing the standard under scarf or finding a cap that stays on your head, some of these sites may offer what you're looking for. Most of the clothing would be better for a girl or around the house (short sleeved dresses); a little heavy on the calico and "prairie inspired" stuff.
